This year’s initiatives include: World Lymphedema Day Proclamations – in as many municipalities as possible; requesting local media/newspapers publish press releases and/or /articles on lymphedema; Terry Walsh Oakley will do an interview on VOCM’s On Target with Linda Swain on March 1st, and Building lighting of Government House and Mount Pearl City Hall on March 6th (World Lymphedema Day).
Copies of gentle exercises (previously published in Pathways magazine) sent to CLTs, fitters and other health care professionals who provide lymphedema related care, asking them to give copies to lymphedema patients.
Posters were developed for distribution in selected appropriate health provider locations, and we asked our members to email us if they would help raise awareness by putting up a poster in their community that explains a bit about lymphedema.
Scroll down to find a downloadable version of the poster.
Presentations will be made to healthcare providers, specifically the College of Registered Nurses of NL, Association of Nurse Practitioners of NL, and College of Licenced Practical Nurses of NL.
Other planned activities were deferred due to another COVID-19 shutdown!
LANL’s mission is to support people living with lymphedema.
Please note we are not able to provide medical advice.
