James is originally from Gander, but currently residing in Mount Pearl where he works as the General Manager of a local business providing accounting and financial management services to small-to-medium sized businesses in the region. James graduated from Memorial University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce and then went on to complete his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation a few years later, making him a perfect fit for the position of treasurer. James has worked in various accounting roles over the past ten (10) years, but his passion lies with helping small businesses reach their potential through value-added accounting and business advisory.
James comes to LANL as a lymphedema patient. James was diagnosed 16 years ago with adolescent onset primary lymphedema in his left leg, and has now lived with this condition for over half of his life. Despite the many challenges it has presented, James still enjoys being active and participating in sports such as hockey and golf, while also getting outside regularly to walk ‘Sonny’, his 75-pound Golden Retriever. James tells us he is happy to volunteer whatever knowledge he has acquired from both his career training and his life of living with lymphedema in hopes that he can be an example for those who are also dealing with the struggles of this condition.
LANL’s mission is to support people living with lymphedema.
